About Mind-Body-Sole and Wendy

Contact Info: 303-335-7086

Stapleton* resident Wendy Correa is a woman's best friend. Through her home-based business Mind-Body-Sole.com, Wendy offers a range of holistic services for women, including massage, yoga, and childbirth and breastfeeding workshops. Wendy works with women in all stages of life, and has advanced training to offer specialized services for women who are in their childbearing years.

What started Wendy in her career path was attending a birth in 1990. It was such a wonderful and inspiring experience that it set the foundation for wanting to be fully informed about pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding when I became pregnant with my son in 1995 in Chicago, she says. Already an experienced yoga student, Wendy enjoyed the benefits of yoga during and after pregnancy and decided to teach prenatal yoga. She later received Doula (labor support) training and studied Hypnobirthing and breast feeding support with La Leche League, and then went on to become nationally certified as a childbirth educator, infant parenting instructor, breastfeeding counselor and CPR instructor. Additional teacher certifications in yoga followed.

Wendy had always encouraged her own yoga students and Doula clients to incorporate massage into their regimen, but it was only after the urging of a client that she rounded out her services by becoming a nationally certified and state licensed massage therapist. I immediately took additional training in Ashiatsu and Prenatal/Postpartum massage. My Ashiatsu teacher lives here in Denver so I completed a second level of Ashiatsu and Hot LavaStone Massage with her after moving here in November of 05.

Now Wendy's home-based massage practice includes Swedish, Prenatal, Postpartum, Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (a barefoot massage technique using deep gliding compression over the back), Hot LavaStone Massage, Arvigo Maya Abdominal Massage and Infant Massage. Our John Laing home has a downstairs flex room with French doors and a powder room across the hall, a perfect space for a massage studio, she says. My architect husband designed and installed the bars for my Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy practice, and the studio was opened in the spring of '06.

Wendy offers massage Tuesday through Saturday. To contact Wendy's studio please call 303-335-7086. First published by Kathy Epperson in the Front Porch, October, 2006.
